Our scribe has taken down excellent notes from the last meeting, which was actually fairly interesting considering the amount of people that were present, and the amount of work we got done, which was actually quite considerable. Does that say something?
Anyway, the minutes from the last meeting are located here.
For those of you not attending the meetings, look at what you are missing. Looks like loads of fun doesn't it?

The role of an Elangomat is a special one, in fact, there is really no asset more important to the success and smooth operation of an Ordeal event. Before getting into how to become an Elangomat, let's first discuss the qualities that an Elangomat should possess, and the expectations set before this very important position.
The most important question: Why should I be an Elangomat?
The position of an Elangomat is not for everyone. It requires hard work, patience, and most importantly, people skills. The translation of the word "Elangomat", literally means "friend". Now before we get any further, some may wonder as to what exactly this "role" entails. It is actually very similar to is translation, in that an Elangomat is expected to be the friend, and the guidance that accompanies future iniates into the Order as they go through their Ordeal. SInce most reading this are already in the QA, they should be familar with the Elangomat, because of course, they were guided by this person as they underwent their Ordeal. An Elangomat is expected to work with the group they are assigned to, assist them with their problems, but more importantly, become ONE of them. Eat with them, keep silence with them, and practice cheerful service to the camp. If you are a person who feels that dedication, helping others, and service are important qualities, then you are probably perfect for the role of an Elangomat.
Next question: How do I become an Elangomat?
Becoming an Elangomat is easy as..well, pie. There are no age restrictions, nor any rank restrictions (though being a Brotherhood member is not needed, it does speak toward your experience in the OA). All you need to do is speak to the Chapter Chief, or one of the Chapter Advisors, and they will hook you up, granting you the title of Elangomat come Ordeal time! However if you commit to this important task, be sure to show up, as many plans will be made assuming that you will be present. Also, consider the members-to-be attending the Ordeal. The more Elangomats, the more work that can be done, and the more friendly and tight-knit the groups can become due to people being more evenly spread out over several Elangomats, instead of just one. Don't forget the main idea behind the Ordeal however: cheerful service. This is where the future members learn the first creed of the Order, and you need to be their foremost role-model. They will follow what you do.
And finally: What do I get?
Of course, the best thing is the satisfaction that you have helped others become members, and that you have taught them the ideals of the Order, and convinced them to continue on, and bring what they have learned to their troops. Oh, and you also get a pretty cool patch, that tells other members that you put in your share and helped out at the Ordeal. "Beware other OA members! Here is one that truly represents Cheerful Service and Brotherhood!"
Become an Elangomat, and help others to achieve what you have, in the Order of the Arrow!

With the second Wiquek Ordeal completed with the invaluable assistance of Kllalam Chapter, we gained over 20 new brothers who accomplished many work projects that the Staff at Camp La-No-Che and the scouters who attend the camp will value for years to come. Wiquek Chapter would like to welcome all of its new members to the Order of the Arrow!
Wiquek Chapter would like to congratulate our new brothers in the Order. During the Ordeal, twenty-six scouts achieved Ordeal status.
